Bruce Callaway

Evan “Bruce” Callaway (age 84) was born on August 16, 1939, at the family farm in Ritchey, Missouri, one of four children to Noble Bruce Callaway and Laveta (Hughes) Callaway. He entered into rest on August 27, 2023, in Neosho, MO. 

Bruce graduated from Midway High School in 1957; he was active in softball and FFA, serving as an FFA officer. During his Senior year, he received the Missouri State Farmer Award and the Agricultural Accomplishment Award from DeKalb. 








He entered the U.S. Army in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1964; he attended the U.S. Army Engineering School and served as a mechanic and guided missile electrical engineering instructor. He received Marksmanship and Good Conduct awards. 

In 1979, he achieved his BS Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting from MSSC, Joplin. He worked as a Controller for Moark Productions for many years, completing his career at Sunbeam, both in Neosho. Bruce enjoyed spending time on the farm, working on cars, and playing cards; he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. 







He is survived by two children (Christopher and Dr. Tonya Callaway) and their spouses (Diana Callaway, Ft. Worth, TX; Ed Baumgartner, Flower Mound, TX); three grandchildren (Grace and Zachary Callaway; Caley Baumgartner) and; brother, sister-in-law (Noble and Marsha Callaway, Sedgewick, KS), sister, and brother-in-law (Cecil and Shirley Cox, Joplin). 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and her husband (Wanda and Jack Davidson, Topeka, KS). 

Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, September 1, 2023, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Neosho, MO; visitation is Thursday from 6:00-7:00PM at the facility.
