Jerry Walker

Jerry Wade Walker was born on November 26, 1945, in Trenton, Missouri, the son of Wade Eugene and Mary Kathryn (Harris) Walker. He entered into rest on August 16, 2023, at his home in Granby, Missouri, at the age of 77. 

Jerry graduated from Newtown Harris High School in Newton, Missouri. He began his career with the Hudson Oil Company in Kansas City, Missouri, and then as a service manager at NW Pump in Seattle, Washington, until retirement. 








Jerry and Jean Kunkel, the mother of his children, were married for nineteen years. On October 16, 1982, he married Bonnie Fitz, and she preceded him in death on April 29, 2011, after thirty years of marriage.

In 2011, Jerry moved to Granby, Missouri, where he committed his time to volunteer service. He volunteered with the Freeman Neosho Hospital Auxiliary, Neosho Bright Futures Program, and the East Newton United Foundation, where he was awarded a lifetime membership. Jerry was a member of the Racine Christian Church, where he was commissioned as a Stephen’s Minister. Jerry enjoyed being with his family and family dinners, eating at Cracker Barrell, and watching science fiction movies.






 

He is survived by three children, Paula McCoy of Ft. Worth, Texas, Scott Walker, and wife, Jody of Lawson, Missouri, and Lori Martin of Neosho, Missouri; grandchildren, Daniel Martin and wife, Tara, Zach Martin and wife, Jenny, Brandon McCoy and wife, Amanda, Kyle McCoy and wife, Stephanie, Wade Walker, Amy Walker, and Mattie Walker; six great-grandchildren and one sister, Ann Schreffler and husband, Gene of Galt, Missouri. 

 Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 4 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, Missouri; Pastor Doug Gripka will officiate. Following the memorial service, the family will receive friends until 6 pm.
