Jimmy Letterman

Jimmy Rex Letterman, of Greenfield, Missouri, passed away at 8:36 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023, at his home. He was born February 17, 1938, in Niangua, Missouri, the son of Doyle and Roxie (Dudley) Letterman.

Jimmy was one of six kids with one sibling still living. His Family moved to Montpelier, Indiana, when he was a teenager. He worked a variety of jobs, farming, lime quarry, canning factory, and while in Indiana he met his wife, Nila and they were married on October 17, 1959, in Montpelier, Indiana. They moved back to Missouri after the birth of their second child.








Jimmy was a concrete worker for many years. He enjoyed going to auctions, garage sales, fishing, playing rook, hunting, and gardening, especially growing tomatoes. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nila; four daughters, Teresa (Johnny) Hicks, of Miller, Missouri, Terri (Lynn) Underwood of Marshfield, Missouri, Tina (David) Rose of Miller, Missouri, and Tammy (William) Brooks of Lockwood, Missouri; one son, Jamie (Sherry) Letterman of Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Betty Fear of Ozark, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.








Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle, and Roxie; daughter, Kathy Letterman; two grandsons, Kirk Rose, and Nicolas Weathers; one great-grandson, Brian Hicks; two sisters, Anna Lee Price, and Viola Crisamore and two brothers, Dean and L.D. Letterman

A visitation, under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, Missouri, will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the Round Grove Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Round Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.FossettMosherFuneralHome.com.
