Jim Moore

Mr. James Leroy “Jim” Moore, 69, of Carthage, Missouri, departed this life on Monday morning, August 28, 2023, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, after months of declining health.

Jim entered this life on July 10, 1954, in Carthage, Missouri, son of the late Ivan Samuel and Leona Lea (Broadwater) Moore. He was a lifelong area resident of Carthage and a 1972, graduate of Carthage High School. He furthered his education by attending Franklin Tech in Joplin. 








On June 9, 1978, he was united in marriage to Connie Alumbaugh and together they have shared the last forty-five years. He worked at Big Smith in Carthage for over twenty years, seven years for the Joplin Globe and the last ten years for Leggett & Platt. He attended worship services at Evangel Assembly of God in Carthage. He enjoyed watching TV and playing games on his computer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Chris Moore, Ivan Moore, Jr. and Tommy Moore; and one sister, Emma Lakes.








Jim is survived by his wife, Connie Moore of the home; two sisters, Peggy Alexander of the state of Texas and Teresa Millard of Joplin; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 at Friends Cemetery in Purcell, Missouri. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
