Deanna Gray

Deanna Louise Gray, age 65, Joplin, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO.

Deanna was born January 18, 1958, in Joplin, the daughter of the late William Overman and Pansy (Carver) Overman. She grew up in Joplin and graduated from Memorial High School in 1976. 

She was a lifelong resident of the Joplin area and a stay-at-home mom taking care of her children. She also worked for many years as a home healthcare provider. She loved all of her children very much, especially her grandchildren. Always loving and giving spirit, she shared her faith with her family, setting an example of how to be fearless through faith. She left this life in the loving comfort of her children.

In addition to her parents, Deanna was preceded in death by her daughter, Deidra Ivy Lee Gray; a sister, Sharon Overman; and two brothers, Roger Overman and Raymond Overman.

Survivors include her children, Dustin Gray, Heather Gray, Brittany Gray, Valarie Gray, all of Joplin, and Lindsey Gray of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Gaven Williams, Aubrey Strickland, Adaleene Gray, Payton Cunningham, Melody Watkins, Nariyah Nutting, and Elam Mathis; sisters Brenda Overman of Joplin, Alice Snyder and husband Joe of Exeter, MO, and a brother, Alvin Overman and wife Alva of Joplin; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family at Parker Mortuary on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Brad and Misti Helton officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, with Dustin Gray, Gaven Williams, Chad Overman, Brandon Overman, Charlie Jordan, Eric Rickey, and Jade McGuirk serving as pallbearers.
