(From Clark Funeral Home)Dena June Grissom was born March 7, 1930, in Anderson, Missouri, the daughter of Ed and Lyda (Williams) White. She entered into rest on September 14, 2023, at the age of 93.
June attended McDonald County Schools and later served as secretary of her class for thirty-eight years. She had worked as office manager for Neosho Optical and was a homemaker. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed going out to eat with her special friend, Denisa Allen. June was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Neosho, and she loved serving people.
On June 23, 1947, in Galena, Kansas, June and Norman Grissom were united in marriage and shared sixty-four years together before his death on December 27, 2011.
June is survived by two daughters, Norma Rhames Newton and husband, Larry of Neosho, Karen Wilson of Neosho; five grandchildren, Shane Rhames, Shad Rhames, Amber, Brandon Wilson and Cheree; numerous great grandchildren and her beloved fur baby, Yogee.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a son, David ‘Frankie’ Grissom,; two sons-in-laws, Jesse Rhames and Rick Wilson and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Pastor Mike Leake will officiate. Interment will follow in the Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Shane Rhames, Shad Rhames, Brandon Wilson, Jim Parmley, Scott Tucker and David Derr. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 pm to 6 pm at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of June may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Neosho, Missouri.
