(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Betty Bloyed, 95, of Jasper, Missouri, passed away at 6:44 PM on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Galena Nursing Center in Galena, Kansas after a lengthy illness.
Betty was born on November 10, 1929, in Tipton Ford, Missouri. She had resided most of her life in the Joplin area. She was a bookkeeper for H.E. Shank Food, Inc. for 15 years.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She enjoyed quilting, bingo and putting puzzles together.
She married Ernest R. Bloyed on August 23, 1968, in Joplin, Missouri and he preceded her in death on June 24, 2001.
Survivors include two sons; Danny Newman of Carl Junction, Missouri and Randy Newman of Galena, Kansas, one daughter; Nancy Watson of Jasper, Missouri, one brother; Perry Newdigger of Joplin, Missouri and one sister; Joan Bryant of Joplin, Missouri, 10 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, and 15 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Odise and Opal Sanders Newdigger, three sisters; June Jeffries, Charlotte Comer, and Margaret Foster.
There will be a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Mason-Woodard Chapel followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri. Concluding services there will be a luncheon held at Joplin Heights Baptist Church, 2701 Willard, Joplin, MO for friends and family.
Keith Braumfield, Pastor will be officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory in Joplin, Missouri.
