(From PMG Funeral Home)JoAnn Utech, 89 of Cantonment Florida- formerly of Joplin Missouri, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, December 22, 2024 at her home. She was born in Fairfield, IL Aug 20, 1935 to Opal Monroe and Wilma Ruth Riley. She lived in Evansville IN until age of 18. She and her family moved to Ontario, CA in 1953 where she met and married Howard S. Utech. They had two daughters.
She was a member of Park Plaza Christian Church in Joplin MO, actively participating in the choir, teaching Sunday School, VBS, assisted with MOPS and involved with the Haitian Christian Mission. She attended Hillcrest Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL using her excellent seamstress skills and involving herself with the Quilting group, sewing backpacks, pencil bags, marble bags for Operation Christmas Child and Aprons for the Haitian Missions.
She was a homemaker and assisted her husband with bookkeeping for his Diesel Business. She along with her husband built their own campers and did a lot of traveling. They also built four houses in Joplin, MO and one in Pensacola, FL. Her hobbies were sewing, crafting, reading and working for the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Howard S. Utech of 64 years, Parents Opal and Wilma Riley, and Sister Norma Jear Bohleber. She is survived by her children: Dawn Rene' and Theresa Lanning, her Grandchildren: Erin Poor, Amanda Oblinger, Luke (Jill) Lanning, 4 Great Grandchildren Ember Poor, Tripp Baker, Jayden Oblinger, and Hadley Lanning. Also survived by Brothers Norman Riley and Lewis Riley and many Nieces and Nephews.
Service will be held Friday, December 27th 2024, 11:00AM at the Pensacola Memorial Gardens, Pensacola, FL
