Lee Anne Sweezy

Lee Anne “Fairchild” Sweezy, 68, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015. Lee Anne was born December 18, 1946 in Joplin; MO to Charles and Virginia Fairchild. Lee Anne graduated from Joplin High school 1964 and received her Bachelor in Education from MSSU in 1980. She was a teacher at the Joplin R- 8 Columbia Elementary until retirement. She then moved to Carthage in 1991.

Lee Anne was united in marriage to Max Sweezy June 22, 1991 in Carthage, MO. He preceded her in death February 2, 2014. Lee Anne is survived by her mother Virginia Fairchild of Saginaw, MO, two sons Thad Taylor of Joplin, MO and Brice Taylor and his wife Tracy of Overland Park, Kansas, two step-daughters Andrea Sneed of Carthage, MO and Audra Hitchborn of Keller, Texas, ten grandchildren Lauren Taylor, Jake Taylor, Abby Taylor, Collin Taylor, Seth Taylor, Madison Hitchborn, Sofia Hitchborn, Morgan Sneed, Avery Sneed and Eli Sneed, one sister Dee Lynn Davey, two brothers Paul Warren Fairchild and Charles “Glen” Fairchild. She was honorary grandma to Joshua and Justin Sneed. Lee Anne is preceded by her husband and her father Charles Fairchild.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday February 3, 2015 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday February 2, 2015 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Fullerton Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
