Bonnie Adams

Bonnie J. Adams, 86, Neosho, entered into rest on December 11, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Bonnie was born Oct. 31, 1931 in Diamond, MO, the daughter of Edward and Marjorie (Norris) McClendon. She was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Neosho High School in 1949. She worked at Southwest Feed and Lime, where she met her husband, Frank L. Adams.

She then worked as a medical records clerk at Sale Memorial Hospital and then worked at Kraft Foods for eighteen years before retiring. While working, she also worked with her husband on the family cattle farm. Bonnie was a Christian and she enjoyed quilting, cooking, traveling and taking her grandchildren to Silver Dollar City. Bonnie and Frank L. Adams were married on Nov. 1, 1952 in Granby and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1993. She is survived by a son, Frank Adams and wife, Jean of Neosho; four grandchildren, Marla Hixson and husband, Luke; Travis Adams and wife, Jennifer; Abby Bottorff and husband, Reid and Ethan Adams; great grandchildren, Bryce and Olivia Hixson; Jayden, Adrianna, Sydni and Logan Adams and Natalie, Baylon and Charlie Bottorff; three brothers, Ed McClendon of Neosho; Rob McClendon of Diamond and Paul McClendon of Stark City and one sister, Barbara Spanks of Virginia. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by an infant sister, Marjorie and sister, Kathy Nelson.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Dr. Phillip McClendon will officiate. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery and honoring Bonnie as pallbearers will be Marla Hixson, Travis Adams, Abby Bottorff, Ethan Adams, Luke Hixson and Paul McClendon. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Clark Funeral Home.
