Margaret Collard

Our loving Christian mother Margaret Jean Collard met her heavenly Father, December 28, 2017 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, MO at the age of 95. 

 Mom was born May 28, 1922 at Anderson, MO. to Fritz and Marie Schneider. She was married to Arthur Eugene Collard October 5, 1941 at her parents’ home in Bunker Hill, MO. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Also preceding her were her sisters, Mildred Schneider and Marion Hodson. She will be greatly missed by many friends, neighbors and family that loved her. She was a wonderful selfless person, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family feels very blessed to have had her to share their lives. She was a strong and determined woman even to the end. Margaret was active in her beloved Oronogo Baptist Church since 1957. She liked to cook, fish and garden and loved her family. She loved taking care of her grandsons and great grandchildren when she could. 

 Survivors include a brother Fred Schneider of Anderson, MO., and three sons, James F. Collard and his wife Karen of Oronogo, Randolph collard of Oronogo, and David E. Collard and his wife Nancy of Webb City, MO. Six grandchildren, Clay Collard, Douglas Collard, Marcy Neager, Matthew Collard, Justin Collard, and Adam Collard and 20 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her good friend Merilene Irwin. A visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 10:00 AM until service time at the First Baptist Church of Oronogo. 

 Funeral services will start at 11:00 AM with Pastor Darin Youngberg officiating. Interment will be at the Tracy Cemetery, East of Anderson, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Oronogo. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Clay Collard, Douglas Collard, Matthew Collard, Justin Collard, Adam Collard, Brian Neager, Wyatt Collard, Houston Collard, Bronson Collard and Pastor Darin Youngberg.
