Shari Janss

Shari J. Janss was born December 20, 1949 in Neosho, Missouri, the daughter of Gerald W. Rowe and Viola Mary Jane (Long) Rowe Beatty. She entered into rest on December 14, 2017 in Joplin, following an extended illness. 

 Shari was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Neosho High School in 1967. She then continued her education, receiving an associates degree in business; a bachelor's degree in Business Education; a master's degree in Marketing Education and Vocational Education. She began her teaching career in the Seneca School System, 1975-1985, teaching business and also sponsored cheerleading and FBLA. In 1985, she began teaching in the Neosho Public School system where she taught computer classes, business, marketing and COE classes and served as sponsor for the DECA Club until her retirement in 2003. She was recognized as Teacher of the Year in the Seneca district in 1985 and Teacher of the Year in the Neosho district in 1987 and received the Neosho Schools' Diamond award in 1997. Shari enjoyed participating and supporting her grandchildren's activities, particularly attending livestock shows and was a member of the Neosho First Baptist Church. 

 Shari and Steve Janss were married on April 5, 1969 in Neosho and he survives. Additional survivors include one daughter, Leslee Kennedy and husband, Jarod of Neosho; two grandchildren, Logan Kennedy and wife, Tayler and Kendra Kennedy and one brother, Wayne Rowe and wife, Lynette of Carthage. She is preceded in death by her parents.
