Dave Lee Hamilton, age 86 died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO.
He was born June 24, 1931 to Henry and Imogene (Moyer) Hamilton. He lived most of his life in the Racine area.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U S Army. He worked as a clerk at the Joplin Post Office, retiring in 1986. He also operated a family ranch.
Mr Hamilton attended New Hope Baptist Church in recent years. He enjoyed the Joplin Senior Citizen Center where played pool and dominoes.
He was married to Rosamary J Stark on November 4, 1955 in Iron Gates, MO. She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, LeRoy Hamilton ( Pam) Miami, OK, and Davie Hamilton (Michelle), Neosho; one daughter, Mary Allen, Neosho; one brother, Bill Hamilton (Helen) Springfield, MO, one sister Joyce (Bobby) Shields, Cushing, OK; 10 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Virgil Hamilton, and Rex Hamilton, and three sisters, Eva Jane Woolever, Norma Allgood, and Virgina Lichty.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Derfelt Funeral Home Galena, KS. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the funeral home.
