(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)James Emerson Reeves, Jr., lifelong resident of Greenfield, was born December 8, 1960 in Lockwood, Missouri. He was the second child born to the union of James and Princess Henderson Reeves.
James graduated from Greenfield High School in 1979. He was a member of the 1977 Class 1A State Champion Football team. A fact that he was extremely proud of. He also attended Missouri Southern State College. In 2009, James received an Associate degree in Computer Information Systems from Everest College.
James departed this life on May 13, 2023 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Princess Reeves; sister, Earlene Reeves; brother, Joe Reeves; two nephews, James Lewis-Reeves and Avery Reeves; niece, Veronica Shackelford (Jarawn); two great-nieces, Nylah and Jayla Shackelford; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday at 12:00 noon until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
