Pam Thomas

Pamela Bell Thomas passed away May 13, 2023, at Swedish Medical Center, in Englewood, CO, at the age of 71.

Pamela was born September 1, 1951, at the Cheyenne County Hospital in St. Francis, Kan., the only child of Clarence LaFollette Bell and Claribel (Shaw) Bell.

Pam was a registered nurse with a distinguished career. She taught nursing at Colby Community College, was a staff nurse and later Director of Nursing at Goodland Regional Medical Center, Hospital Administrator at the Rawlins County Hospital, and a staff nurse and then Director of Nursing at the Atwood Good Samaritan.








Pam married Dan Thomas on July 30, 1982. The couple shared 41 years together. In 1987, they welcomed Ward into their home and in 1989, son Alex was born. Pam considered her job as “Mom” one of her greatest achievements.

She loved swimming, horseback riding and both water and snow skiing. Pam delighted in the land and in animals and in music and in learning. She was an extraordinary pianist and enjoyed playing for the annual Christmas program at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Atwood. Above all, Pam loved her God, her family and God’s creation.








Pam leaves to mourn her passing her husband Dan Thomas, McDonald, Kan.; son Alex (Elizabeth) Thomas and their children, Daniel Jerran Thomas and Arsen Ernst, of McDonald; son Ward (Tanya) Thomas, of Carl Junction, Mo. and their children, Lucretia (Johnathon) Milbers, Beloit, Kan., Ean Thomas, Denver, Colo., Natalee (Brandon) Jones, Lawrence, Kan., Nathan Thomas, Hays, Kan., Shiloh Thomas, Joplin, Mo., Mario Thomas and Gabriel Thomas, Carl Junction, Mo.; great granddaughters, Aira and Ada; sisters-in-law Cindy (Bob) Siegel, Bellaire, Tex. and Jackie Yobbagy, Ebensburg, Pa.; nieces, Jennifer Siegel, Houston, Tex., Lauren Siegel, New York, NY and Isabella Yobbagy, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Baalmann Mortuary, Atwood. Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Atwood, Kan., with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Atwood. Memorials may be made to the church and sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
