Judi Sims

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Judith Mary Sims (Richardson) passed away peacefully on May 11th, 2023, with loved ones by her side. She was 64 years old.

Judi was born October 14th, 1958 in Garnett, KS to Donald Richardson and Hilda Richardson (Smith). Her early years were spent in Colony, KS. The family moved to Missouri in 1967 where Judi attended Webb City schools.

Over the years, she worked at various jobs in the community including Sam's, High Energy Weight Loss, and Babe's Sandwich Shop, among others, but particularly loved the customer service aspect of her work that allowed her to chat with regulars and brag about what she was most proud of - her family.

Judi was an on-the-go person who loved shopping, whether it be at the local mall, flea market, or neighborhood garage sales. She also enjoyed reading, doing word search puzzles, and adored more than anything watching the Andy Griffith Show, however her greatest joy by far was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Judi was a devoted mother, nana, sister, aunt, and friend. Her spunkiness, love, and laughter will be greatly missed.

Judi was predeceased by her parents, brother Larry, and sister, Pamela. She is survived by two children, son Terry Wright, and his wife Homaira, daughter Pam Bunce, and her husband Larry. Judi “Nana” is also survived by 9 grandchildren which include the "Apple of her eye" and first grandchild Rylee Sims, Kamran Wright, Durran Wright, Arian Wright, Kolton Bunce, Jocelyn Bunce, Lucas Bunce, Zaria Bunce, Dyonte, and honorary grandson Terrance Gibson, as well as brothers Mike (Pam) Richardson, Steve (Peggy) Richardson, Kent (Donna) Richardson, and sister Jill (Mike) Wilkins. Judi had many nieces and nephews, in addition to her very good friend Gail Jarmin, who all share in this loss as well.

Please join the family for a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25th, 2023 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary with visitation to follow. Internment at the Colony Cemetery will be May 26th at 2pm.
