(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Dorothy Campbell, 92 of Springfield, Mo and formerly of Fairland, OK passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024. A woman of strength and unwavering devotion, she was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Born on July 15, 1932, in Ozark, MO she was the daughter of John M. Harp and Bertha L. Harp. Dorothy was the loving wife of the late Victor W. Campbell, a dedicated railroad worker. Together they shared a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to family. Her husband’s hard work on the railroad was matched by her own tireless efforts at home where she was known for creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who visited.
Dorothy was especially known for hosting family gatherings during the holidays, where her home was fill with the aromas of home-cooked meals and the sounds of joyful conversation. Whether it was Christmas, Thanksgiving, or any special occasion, her hospitality and generosity knew no bounds. Her table was always set with care, and her heart was always open to loved ones.
Dorothy attended the School of the Ozarks graduating high school in1949. She was a long-time member of First Babtist Church of Fairland, OK. Dorothy and Victor moved numerous times due to his employment with the railroad, making friends throughout the country. The last three years of her life she resided in Springfield, MO at Joy Assisted Living. In addition to her love for family, Dorothy loved to crochet and sew. She worked many years doing men’s alterations and also altering wedding dresses. Her resilience, compassion, ability to find joy in everyday moments were qualities that defined her and will be missed by all who knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Linda Lynch, Sarcoxie, MO grandson Jordan Lee and great grandson Brayton Lee, her grandchildren, James Campbell, Claremore, OK his children, Faith, Benjamin and Andrew. Grandson Steven Campbell and wife Christine, Porter, OK and their children Asa, JJ, Asher and Joe. Granddaughter Jamie Campbell. Family Friend Teresa Campbell Watson and her husband Howard. Daughter in Law Lujean Campbell, Miami, OK her children Justin Campbell and wife Mandy of Grove, OK their daughter Sierra and husband Brec, Jared Campbell and wife Ashley their children, Jace, Jaylee, and Jaxton Campbell, Miami OK and Kelsey Adair and husband Jason of Miami, Ok. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor her sons James and Jerry Campbell, great grandson Jayten Campbell and her siblings John Harp and Deloris Kramer.
Her legacy of love hospitality will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life.
Graveside services will be held on December 6, 2024, at 11:00 at the Dadeville MO Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made through Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie, MO for Joy Assisted Living Residents Christmas Gift fund. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri.
