(From Parker Mortuary)Doris Lee McClain, age 75, of Joplin, MO passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Freeman Hospital West.
Doris was born on September 22, 1949 in Pittsburg, KS to the union of Louis and Leona (Lapping) Mishler. She attended Joplin Public Schools and graduated from Riverton High School in 1967. She held many jobs and among them were: Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau and a secretary at Joplin Junior High.
Doris was a member of the Park Plaza Christian Church. She enjoyed reading and solving puzzles in her spare time. She was also a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Those who knew Doris will recall her as a beacon of light, always ready with a kind word.
Doris is survived by her son, Lonnie Leon Stockam, of Joplin; two sisters, Ann Loggains, of Webb City, and Patti Martin and husband, Ray, of Idaho; one nephew, Chase Martin, of Tennessee; and one niece, Chelsea Gilligan, of England.
Cremation arrangements are under the special care of Parker Mortuary.
