(From Clark Funeral Home)Jeffrey Lynn Gailey of Neosho, Missouri, passed away at his home on November 7, 2025.
He was born in Neosho on October 8, 1956, to Edgar Gailey and Billie Jackson, and Neosho is where he built his life and made his mark.
Jeff earned his GED and went on to work for 20 years for the City of Neosho. He took pride in his job and it showed in everything he did. Whether keeping the streets clear during the rough Missouri winters or reading meters around town, Jeff worked hard, did things right, and cared deeply about his community.
Jeff was a lifelong sports fan who loved his St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals, and there wasn’t a bigger Kansas City Chiefs fan around. He enjoyed bowling, spending time outdoors, and relaxing at home with his beloved animals — especially his cats and dogs, who were just as much a part of the family as anyone else.
Jeff’s heart was big — big enough to love and be loved by many.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Gailey; his children Ashley (Paul) Schultz of Granby, MO, and Shawn Gailey of Neosho, MO; his five grandchildren Blake Schultz, Isaac Schultz, Alexus Schultz, Melody Schultz, and Emery Gailey; and many adopted children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who he claimed as his own. He is also survived by his brother David (Yim) Gailey of California, MO, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Jeff will be remembered for his loyalty, his love of family (both two-legged and four-legged), and the way he took care of the people and town he loved.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
