(From Clark Funeral Home)Mary Alice West went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2025, at the age of 90 years. She passed away at her home in Neosho, Missouri. Mary was born on January 20, 1935, in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Leonard and Neta (Lacy) Boyd.
She married Marvin Eugene West on October 19, 1951, in Martinez, California. Together, they shared 66 years of marriage, before he passed on December 1, 2017.
Mary was the embodiment of a Proverbs 31 woman. She was a homemaker who spent her days caring for her family and keeping a loving home. She was a wonderful seamstress who made many beautiful dresses for her girls throughout the years. She also enjoyed quilting beautiful works of art for her family. She taught her daughters how to sew, passing on her skills to the younger generations. She was a wonderful cook, known for her oatmeal raisin cookies, and delicious pies.
She also took the time to teach her daughters and granddaughters how to bake pies from scratch, never too busy to pass on her knowledge and skills. She was affectionately known as “Chocolate Grandma” to her great-grandchildren, as she was known to be a little indulgent with them, always having chocolate milk and chocolate cake or cookies waiting when they visited. She enjoyed making crafts, like macramé and painting. She lovingly tended her garden to provide vegetables for her family. She was a faithful member of Bible Holiness Assembly of God in Neosho, Missouri. Her children look back on their time with her and call her blessed.
Mary is survived by her children: Michael West and wife, Barbara, Vicki White, and husband, Jerry, and Tina Edwards and husband, Scott, all of Neosho, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, sister Bonnie Hildreth of Vacaville, California, and brother Dennis Boyd and wife, Katie, of Rocklin, California. The time she invested and the love she showed to her family will not be forgotten.
