(From Simpson Funeral Home)Daryl H. Johnson Jr., known as Chip or Skip to his close friends and family, passed away on December 14, 2025, at his residence in Neosho, Missouri. Born in Chincoteague, Virginia on February 1, 1953, Daryl lived a life in the service.
Daryl served his country valiantly as a member of the Coast Guard, retiring in Mobile, Alabama. His dedication and bravery were recognized with the awarding of both the Silver Star and Bronze Star. Despite his distinguished service, Daryl never lost his sense of humor. His love for music was evident in his hobby of playing the guitar.
Daryl is survived by his father Daryl (Tobey) Harvey Johnson Sr. of Blytheville, MO; sister, Lorna (Frank) Foster of Hutchison, KS; children, Jocelyn "Jaye" (Matthew) Shank and 7 children of Neosho, MO, Sean (Dana) Johnson and 3 children of Ozark, MO, Tony (Dawn) Johnson and 2 children of Donnellson, IA, Aaron (Carrie) Johnson and 7 children of Ewing, MO, Amy (Matt) Buford and 5 children of Memphis, MO and 10 great grandchildren. Daryl is preceded in passing by his mother Bonnie Johnson; sisters, Jocelyn Elaine Johnson and Baby Girl Johnson.
