(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)Julia Lee Nelums of Joplin, MO passed from this life Friday, December 12, 2025 at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch, Joplin, MO. She was 83.
Julia was born March 13, 1942 in Hayfork, CA to Oren Kenneth and Annie Francis (Woodworth) Hammersley. She had lived in Joplin for the past 20 years moving from Picher, OK. Julia was a homemaker and a member of Father’s House Church in Miami, OK.
Julia was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Cecil Nelums and Charles Searcy, a daughter- in – law, Nancy Nelums, her parents, 2 brothers, Joe Hammersley and Harlan Hammersley and 3 sisters, Shirley Barrias, Nancy Duncan and Beverly Robinson.
Julia is survived by 2 sons, Ronald Nelums of Joplin, MO and Kenneth Nelums of Joplin, MO, 2 brothers, Frank Hammersley of Kellogg, ID and Jimmy Hammersley of Red Bluff, CA, 1 sister, Jackie Madden of Oroville, CA, 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Rev. Charles Clevenger will officiate.
