(From Clark Funeral Home)Joann Yvonne Sargent, beloved aunt, sister, and friend, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at her home in Duenweg, Missouri. Joann was one of five daughters born to the late Cecil Clayton and Jean Louise (Atkinson) Sargent. She was born in Alma, Michigan on March 6, 1949.
Some of Joann’s greatest joys came from spending time with her family. Aunt Jo was loving and playful. She enjoyed word searches, crafts of all kinds, and playing with the family dog, Charli. She had a generous spirit and was constantly on the lookout for a gift to buy for a loved one. Her tender heart was evident, as she never refused helping anyone that needed it. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved Christmas shopping, making the effort to search for the perfect gifts. When she was at home, you could often find her coloring with Grayson, playing babies with Kaislynn, or watching cartoons with Ashlynn and Braxton.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents and sister Cecilae Brooks. She is survived by three sisters: Sandra Sargent of Neosho, Missouri, Eva Smith and husband Terry of Seneca, Missouri, and Roberta Cadwell of Neosho, Missouri, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
A Memorial Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Missouri.
