Christina P. Betz, Neosho, died on March 17, 2017 at her home in Neosho, following a lengthy illness.
Christine was born March 20, 1939 in Benton County, Arkansas, the daughter of Arnold and Hazel Harris and she was a lifelong area resident. She was an educator and taught in the Joplin Public School system, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed living on the farm and was very family oriented. She was a member of Chapter JO-PEO and the Seneca Methodist Church.
Christine married Bobby G. Keeling and he and their daughter, Gayle Ann were tragically killed in an automobile accident on Oct. 10, 1967.
On Aug. 29, 1980, Christine and Dr. Richard Betz were married in Joplin and they shared 36 happy years together and he survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Rick Keeling and wife, Carolyn of Boulder City, MO; two stepsons, Dr. Steven Betz and wife, Theresa of Mason City, IA and Dr. David Betz of Modesto, CA; former daughter in law, Auguree Betz; ten grandchildren, Bobby Keeling, David Keeling, Michael Betz, Daniel Keeling, Benjamin Keeling, Nathan Betz, Sarah Betz, Alex Betz, Sebastian and Nicholas Betz; one great grandson, Ricky Keeling and a sister, Joan Mitchell and husband, Keith of Joplin.
Services will be Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Rev. Doris Schlessman and Father Derek Swanson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield, MO. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho on Monday evening from 6 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Contributions in memory of Christine may be made to Cottey College, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
