(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)
S. Jim Truelove was called home to his Heavenly Father on March 23, 2017 at 10:20 p.m. He was born in Joplin, Missouri on October 30, 1947 to Sylba “Sid” and Betty Schade Truelove.
Jim attended Joplin Schools. He married Christal Clark Truelove on May 3, 1968. Jim served our Country in the United States Air Force from 1967 until 1971. Jim received an Associate’s Degree in Business from Columbia College in 1976. Jim worked at F.A.G. Bearings from 1972 until 1995 when he retired due to ill health.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sid Truelove and mother Betty Truelove Jenkins, along with his step-father, Charles Jenkins, and his mother and father-in-law, Jack and Evelyn Clark. Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cris and a son, Dr. James E. Truelove of Bolivar, and his daughter, Kim Albrecht and husband, P.C. of Duenweg. Jim’s pride and joy were his six grandchildren, Kate Wilson and husband Dakota of Carl Junction and Christal, Parker, Zachary, Dakota and Austin Albrecht all of Duenweg. Jim is also survived by his sister, Nancy Hight and husband Rick, of Duenweg.
To know Jim was to love him. He had an ornery streak a mile wide and was a real prankster all of his life. Jim spent a lot of his life coaching Farm Club, Little League and softball. He and Cris also served as Youth Leaders and Jim was a Deacon for many years. Up until the time he was too ill to leave the home, Jim would spend many mornings drinking coffee and “telling stories” with his friends at Double D Café. Jim touched so many people throughout his life. You didn’t know Jim and not love him. His family misses him terribly but knows he is entertaining God with all those stories he liked to tell. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Compassus, especially Jaye Shank and Melodie Rutledge, who brought a smile to Jim’s face every time he saw them and to the wonderful people at Double D Café, who are part of the family.
Visitation will be at Mason Woodard Mortuary on Monday March 27, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be officiated by Jim’s son, Dr. James E. Truelove and will be held at Ozark Memorial Park on Tuesday March 28, 2017 at 11:00 am.
