Melvin Dean Sherwood passed away March 27, 2017 at Avalon Memory Care Home in Dallas, TX.
Mel was a wonderful husband to Dorothy, and father to his two sons, Mark and Curt. Mel graduated from Seneca High School, Seneca, MO in 1948 and graduated from Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy at Rolla, MO, after serving four years in the Navy. He was employed by the Eagle Pitcher Company in Joplin, MO. and went with the company when it moved to Socorro, NM. After a few years he was employed by Texas Instruments in Dallas, TX. He finished his career by establishing his own company. Sherwood/Dallas Company and was very successful in that endeavor. His two sons have taken over the business.
Mark married Rhonda Griffin and they have three children Mark, Ronnie and Natalie. Curt married Brenda Johnson and they have two children, Jozsef and December.
Mel was a devout Christian and a passionate lover of his Baptist Church in Richardson, TX. Mel and Dorothy were happily married 65 years. We will miss him. He was truly a good man.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1pm, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 1 with Doug Lawson officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery.
