John E. Taylor, 86, Diamond, MO entered into rest April 6, 2018. Born March 26, 1932 in Irwin, OH to Earl and Helen (Martin) Taylor, John was a longtime area resident. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. John was a cattle farmer and a member of Silver Moon Full Gospel Church, where he served as the Adult Sanctuary Sunday School teacher from 1977 until 2018.
John and Dorsa Jones were married Nov. 28, 1986 in Neosho, MO; she survives of the home. Additional survivors include three children: Joan Layne and husband, Vance of Bentonville, AR, Rene Taylor of Neosho, Ann M. Troxel and husband, John of Miami, OK; six step children: Debra Mason and husband, Todd of Wentworth, MO, Rick Shilling of Prior, OK, Steve Shilling and wife, Vicki of Granby, MO, Patty Cloud and husband, Mark of Joplin, MO, Christina Cooper and husband, John of Joplin, MO, and David Main of Tulsa, OK; two brothers: Bob Taylor and Albert Taylor; six sisters: Alice Vaughn, Sylvia Higgins, Mildred Bone, Bonnie Stroud, Patty Edwards, and Mary Lou Stout; 27 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 am until service time, at the Church.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Silver Moon Full Gospel Church, with Pastor Phil Barber officiating.
Interment, with military honors, will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Neosho.
