(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Bonita Rae Morphis, 84, of Joplin, Missouri passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026,
at her residence.
She was born on April 18, 1941, in Springfield, Oregon.
She had resided in Joplin, Missouri since 1991 moving from Oregon.
She was a member of Mt. Hope Church of Christ.
She enjoyed collecting elephants, shopping and riding Harley motorcycles.
She married Owen Morphis on August 17, 1978, in Reno, Nevada and he survives.
Other survivors include, one son; Bill Anderson from the State of California, one
daughter; Regina Ehrmantrout of Joplin, Missouri, one step-daughter; Shawn Elizabeth
Morphis of Crestwell, Oregon, 16 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters; Judy Gratton and Maria Mathia, one
step-son; Stacy Owen Morphis, her parents; Thomas Alfred and Leone Rose Abbott
Henderson, one brother; Darrell Henderson and one sister; Aleta Long.
There are no services planned and per her wishes she will be cremated.
