(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Marlin Wayne Crousore, age 76 of Joplin, MO., passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Marlin was born on September 9, 1949 in Hannibal, MO., the son of the late Marcus and Neva (Smoot) Crousore. Marlin proudly served his country as part of both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He served for many years, working as a maintenance supervisor for the Missouri National Guard in Macon, MO., until his retirement.
Marlin could truly be considered a “Jack of All Trades”, he definitely was a craftsman and a fixer. He loved to work with his hands, whether it be wood-working, mechanic work or just a good day of hard work on his family’s land, he loved to work on things and be outside.
He is survived by his daughter; Leigh Anne Garrett and her husband Mike of Oronogo, MO., a granddaughter; Caitlyn Garrett, two brothers; Bryan Crousore and wife Sharon, Michael Crousore and wife Liz, a sister; Marcia Chatfield, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2026, at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow later that afternoon at the Missouri National Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
