(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)Lauren Michael "Mike" Johnson of Joplin, MO passed from this life Friday, January 2, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. He was 75.
Mike was born August 19, 1950 in Miami, OK to Lauren "Junior" and Betty (Steele) Johnson. He was a 1968 graduate of Picher-Cardin High School in Picher, OK. He graduated from N.E.O. A.&M. College in Miami, OK and attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO.
Mike worked as a Product Investigator for State Farm Insurance for 35 years. He was a member of Hornet Christian Church in Hornet, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents Junior and Betty Johnson, his brother, Gregg Johnson and his sister, Lee Ann Johnson.
Mike married Sally Root on August 14, 1970 in Picher, OK.
Mike is survived by his wife, Sally Johnson of the home, 1 son, Brian Johnson and his wife Stacey of Carl Junction, MO, 1 daughter, Amanda Pattyson of Chillicothe, MO, 4 grandchildren, Chandler Pattyson and his wife Taylor, Payton Johnson, Chase Pattyson and his significant other Fallon Younger and Carson Johnson and 2 great-grandchildren, Blakeley Johnson and Abaron Pattyson.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, OK with Rev. Bob Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home until 4:00 p.m. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
