Roupen Berberian

Roupen Vahan Berbarian, age 92, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away from this life at his residence on December 24, 2025.

Roupen was born on April 4, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Vahan and Arpine Berberian. He was a graduate of Bartram High School and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Economics from Temple University, reflecting a lifelong passion for learning and education.








Roupen was a member of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He proudly served his country with dedication and bravery.

Roupen was an entrepreneur and built a life devoted to knowledge, service, and teaching. He became a professor at Palm Beach State University, where he inspired students through his love of economics and education.

He was a great speaker who enjoyed educating and encouraging groups of all ages. He believed in sharing knowledge he learned to empower others through education.

On June 11, 1955, Roupen married Helen Penelope Karavan, in Philadelphia. They shared 68 years together until her passing on January 31, 2023.








At the age of 89, he developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by giving his life to Him and was baptized.

Roupen is survived by his children: Vahan Berberian of West Chester, Pennsylvania; Diane (Loren) DeWitt of Neosho, Missouri; and Alysia Berberian (James Hammer) of Neosho, Missouri. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Collin B. Sharf and Mario A. Castro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vahan and Arpine Berberian; his beloved wife, Helen; his brother, Charles Berberian; and many cherished friends from all walks of life.
