Helen Maxine Rigg, age 83 of Joplin, MO passed away Friday March 13, 2015 at the Joplin Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born on April 20, 1931 in Cameron, Mo the daughter of William and Kathleen “Dabler” Oswald. She married Bruce Rigg on October 22, 1960 in Cameron, Mo he preceded her in death on April 9, 1991. Helen worked as a waitress for R&M Restaurant until her retirement. She was a member of the Forest Park Baptist Church, the Eagles Ledge and the Rebecca’s and loved bingo.
Helen was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Kimberly Lowery, a brother and three sisters. Survivors include a son Billy and wife Melba of Carl Junction, MO, a daughter Sherry Courtney and husband Bill of Joplin, MO, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and lifelong friend Chico.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday March 16, 2015 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory with Rev Jarel Burnside officiating. Burial will follow in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to service time at the Mortuary. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s foundation or Disabled American Veterans in care of the Mortuary.
