Robert H. Bolyard, Age 79 of Joplin, Mo. passed away on his birthday, March 1st, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin following an illness.
Robert was born March 1st, 1936 in Warsaw Missouri the son of the late Melvin and Lola (Odell) Bolyard. Robert proudly severed his country as part of U.S. Army and National Guard for 47 years before retiring in 1996.
He married Sara Drake on March 6, 1971, she survives. Additonal survivors include one son, Stephen “Mark” Bolyard and wife Dana of Marble, N.C.; one daughter, Beth Sill and husband Doug of Diamond, Mo.; six sisters Barbara Stramel and husband Rod of Carthage, Mo.; Gail Shipman and husband Richard of Carthage; Patricia McDaniel’s and husband Bob of Carthage; Linda Cupp and husband Kenneth of Joplin; Phyllis Booth and husband Glen of Carthage; Lee Murphy of Eugene, Or.; four grandchildren Kylee Sill, Kallie Sill, Skyler Bolyard and Sydney Bolyard. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Bolyard.
Funeral Services have been scheduled for March 6th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Elder Gene Winslow will be officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
