Marguerite Kistler

Marguerite was born October 29, 1917 in Dallas, Texas to James Andrew and Anna Louise (Ferree) Eldridge. When she was seven years old, she moved with her parents, a brother Edgar and a sister Hildegard from Tulsa, OK to a farm five miles from Stella, MO. It was in the community called Cartmell that had a Methodist and Baptist church, one room school house and a general store within a one mile radius. She married Argyl (Bob) Kistler June 11, 1938 and to them were born a daughter, Anna Argylene and a son, James Myers. Marguerite owned and operated a beauty salon in Stella a number of years. She was active in school activities and the one she felt was special was the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) which started and sponsored the Stella Lunch Program. She was a charter and founding member of the Stella Methodist Church United Women’s Union, Stella Senior Center and the Stella Historical Society. Her mission project was visiting assisted living and Nursing Home residents.

Marguerite was member of the Stella United Methodist Church and an avid follower of God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a devoted wife and mother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, sister, brother and grandson, Kevin Barnett. Surviving is her daughter Argylene and son-in-law John Brewer of Neosho, and son Jim and daughter-in-law Brenda Kistler of Prattville, Al. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren as well as numerous niece and nephews.
