Corey D. VanWey, 38, passed away Saturday April 9, 2016.
He was born September 29, 1977 in Carthage Missouri. Corey was a lifetime Carthage resident. He worked for 14 years in lawn care and was employed by the Jasper County Special Road District. He enjoyed Hunting and Fishing.
Corey was united in marriage to Jamie Hurtt July 7, 2012 at Calvary Hill, Carthage, Missouri, she survives. Corey is survived by his wife, one daughter Kayli Jade VanWey of the home and two sons Kyler James VanWey of the home and Zavery Prater of Carthage, MO. His Mother and Stepfather Linda and Joe Davis and his father Dennis Charles VanWey all of Grove, OK. One Brother Travis VanWey (Amber) of Grove, OK, one sister Mistie Cole (Johnny) of Carthage, two brother-in-law’s Dustin Hurtt and Kenney Hurtt. Grandparents Charles VanWey Sr. of Carthage, Meg Blasé of Fresno, CA. and a Grand-Mother-In-Law Pat Comfort, Joplin, MO. Father-In Law James Hurtt of Moberly, MO and Mother-In-Law Sharon Hurtt of Joplin, MO. also survived by a numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and a host of friends. Corey is preceded in death by his grandparent Leonard and Marjorie Maggard.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday April 14, 2016 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday April 12, 2016 at Ulmer Funeral Home.
