Victor Frerer

Victor Frederick Frerer, 92, Carthage, passed away April 4, 2016 at his home in Carthage. Victor was born February 3, 1924 in his family home, south of Carthage, MO, to the late Fred Frerer and Mabel (Suiter) Frerer. He was a graduate of Carthage High School, Class of 1942 and graduated as 2nd Lieutenant of ROTC. Victor married Maxine (Corum) Frerer on July 13, 1941, who remained with him until she was called to Heaven on February 9, 2014. Victor worked as a dairyman throughout high school.After graduating he and Maxine settled down into the life of farming, dairying, raising crops, milking 30 to 35 cows every day, as well as raising two daughters and a son. In his spare time, Victor served on the MFA Board, the Prairie View School Board, the Carthage R-9 School Board, and the Carthage Special Road District.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Barbara Spencer (husband Jim), Eldorado Springs, MO; one son, Ronald Frerer (wife Nancy), Carthage, MO; eight grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Lucille Peters, Doris Swearingen, and Ada Fullerton, his wife, Maxine, one daughter, Vickie Diane Ummel, and one granddaughter, Robin Hartley.

A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016, at the First Baptist Church, Carthage. Rev. Ron Franklin and Rev. John Davidson will officiate. Memorial gifts are suggested to the First Baptist Church or the Salvation Army in care of Knell Mortuary, 308 W. Chestnut, Carthage, MO 64836.
