Dud Burns

Willard Ralph “Dud” Burns, 80, of Mindenmines, MO, passed away at 2:10 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016, at his residence. 

He was born July 8, 1935, at Pittsburg, KS, the son of John Camblin and Myrtle Deborah (Burris) Burns. He attended grade school in Beulah and graduated from Cherokee High School in May of 1953. 

On July 14, 1953, he was united in marriage to Patricia H. Bishop at Girard, KS. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2014, and they are now enjoying a cup of coffee in heaven. Mr. Burns worked for Dickey Clay for 15 years and was a pipefitter for 35 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of Pipefitters Local 441 and 664. He is survived by four sons, Jim Burns and his wife, Gail of Mindenmines, Rusty Burns of Mindenmines, Rocky Ramage, and David Burns of Mindenmines; two daughters, Nancy Sisney and Gayle Prettyman of Croweburg, Laura McLaughlin and her husband, Tyson of Pittsburg; and eight grandchildren; Michael Sisney (Missy), Kerry Pommier (Brian), Alex Smith, Tre and Kaden McLaughlin, Rachel Martin, Tucker and Tanner Ramage, nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Cherry of Olathe, KS and Norma Washington of Beulah, KS, and numerous foster children who were welcomed into the home. In addition to his wife he preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and two sisters. Mr. Burns has been cremated. 

The family will receive friends at the Brenner Mortuary, Monday, April 11, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Private family burial will take place at a later time. The family suggests memorials to Angels Among Us. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
