Mitch Whitekiller

Alfred “Mitch” Whitekiller was born April 1, 1930 in Hulbert, OK to Willie and Linda (Glass) Whitekiller and was the oldest of 9 children. 

 He attended school at Wyandotte Indian School in Wyandotte, OK, followed by Chilocco Indian School through 10th grade. He boxed for both schools, was a golden glove boxer and won several championships. He served in the US Army 1950-1952, and rejoined the Army Jan 18, 1955 and served until Aug 31, 1956 and was Honorably Discharged with service connected disability. He spent 6 months in the Army hospital before being released to return home. 

 He married Charlene Allen on January 17, 1958. They have been married 58 years and had 6 children: Willie, Eddie, Julie, Jeffrey, Charles and Sandy. He was a carpenter by trade most of his life, enjoyed coon hunting and fishing and thoroughly loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mitch was known for his humor and his smile. He lived in Seneca, MO 35 years and returned to live in Oklahoma 15 years ago. He is preceded in death by sons Jeffrey and Eddie Whitekiller, mother Linda (Glass) Whitekiller, father Willie Whitekiller, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by wife Charlene Whitekiller of the home, Willie Whitekiller and wife Chris of Claremore; Julie Whitekiller of Locust Grove; Rev. Charles Whitekiller and wife Katie of Neosho, MO; Sandy and husband Rope Fanning of Locust Grove, MO; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Lighhouse Assembly of God in Locust Grove, OK with Rev. Charles Whitekiller & Rev. David Dillion officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 PM at the Seneca Cemetery, Seneca, MO with military rites.
