Ed Schultz

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Edmond "Ed" Schultz, a beloved member of the community, departed from this world on February 26, 2024, at the age of 86.

Born to Edmond and Doris Schultz on March 1, 1937, in Tulsa, OK, Ed lived a life dedicated to service, generosity, and selflessness.

A graduate of Stella High School in 1955, Ed answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the US Navy from 1955 to 1962.

Following his military service, Ed embarked on a diverse career path, demonstrating his adaptability and work ethic. He held various positions, including manager for Boeing in Wichita, KS, at Reynolds Aluminum in Dallas, Eagle Pitcher in Stella, co-owned a grocery store in Stark City, and concluded his career at CFI Trucking, where he retired in 2002. Ed's true passion lay in serving his community and helping others. A skilled handyman and a generous soul, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to widows and friends in need.

He spent 46 years with the Fire Department as a First Responder and served as Fire Chief for some time. His commitment to public service extended to his tenure as the Mayor of Stark City for many years, where he worked tirelessly to enhance the lives of his fellow citizens. His community service continued, working at Clark Funeral Home as an Assistant Funeral Director where he touched the lives of so many.

On November 16, 1960, Ed was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Beni Landreth, in Newkirk, OK, until her passing on April 6, 2021. Together, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and shared purpose. Ed's legacy of love and service lives on through his children, daughter Lisa Sheppard and husband Brad of Neosho, and son Michael Schultz and wife Sandra of Joplin, MO, as well as his cherished grandchildren Vickie, Megan, Emma, Michael, Tara, JeAnna, and Mathue, and great-grandchildren Aubrey and Justus. Ed is also survived by his siblings Blair Rawlins, Donna Wagner, and Valerie Smith, and a nephew who was like a son to him, Mark Landreth.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Beni, a sister, Jackie Gillest, and a grandchild Randy Sheppard.

A celebration of life to honor Ed's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Wanda United Methodist Church, where full military honors will be performed by the Missouri Funeral Honors Program.
