(From Parker Mortuary)Michael Lee Allen, age 69 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, following a short illness. Michael was born October 19, 1954 in Joplin to the late James and Barbara (Niles) Allen.
Michael grew up in Seneca, Missouri where he graduated high school. He eventually moved to Joplin and began his working career with his father at W.R. Grace up until it closed and then went to work with TAMKO in the maintenance department, where he has worked the last 30 years.
Michael loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, attending all their sporting events. In his spare time, he enjoyed raising and taking care of his goats.
Michael married Sherry Allen in Joplin and have been by each other’s side for the past 51 years. To this union were 2 children, Amanda Dunlap (Douglas) of Joplin and a son, Christopher Allen, passing in 2007. Additionally, two grandchildren, Ava Dunlap and Logan Allen; brother, Kenneth Allen (Kathy) of Collinsville, Oklahoma and a sister, Annette Goodall (Bob) of Joplin.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Parker Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services are planned for Thursday, February 29th at 1:00 p.m. at the Parker Chapel. Burial will follow at Osborne Memorial Park Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
