Leo Altebaumer

Orville Leo Altebaumer, 78, a long time resident of Joplin, MO passed away Feb. 21, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Leo Altebaumer was born August 5, 1945 in Vinita, OK to William George "Bill" Altebaumer and Elnora "Belle" (Miller) Altebaumer of Centrailia, OK. The youngest of three boys, he grew up in Miami, OK, attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and was a 1963 graduate of Miami High School. 








After graduation Leo enlisted in the Army Reserves serving seven years from 1964 to 1971. Upon his return he met the love of his life Donna Kay Oleman. The two were married on September 16, 1972 and celebrated a love that spanned over 50 years.

Leo was preceded in death by his wife Donna Kay Altebaumer; His parents; one son Christopher Altebaumer, one daughter, Amanda Altebaumer; two brothers; Johnny E. Altebaumer and William R. "Jr." Altebaumer.








Leo is survived by his daughter Erica Vaughn and husband Daniel, Joplin, MO; two grandchildren; Olivia Stanley, Springfield, OH and Kili Rich, Joplin, MO as well as a host of friends and extended family that loved and cherish him.

The body has been taken for cremation under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecom Funeral Home, Seneca, MO. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at 10:00am, Monday, February 26, 2024 at the GAR Cemetery in Miami, OK.
