Wilma Smith

Wilma Jean Smith, 80 of Wichita, Kansas departed this life on Friday, February 16, 2024, while at home in Wichita after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Her strong will and determination kept her going through this, as it did with all things in her life.

Wilma was born May 6, 1943, to the late Alex and Ella (Harp) Sutton of Anderson, MO. She was a loving mother and wife who was loved by all who came into her life. She enjoyed spending her time working on the farm and later at her home in Wichita with her late husband John and caring for her family and others.

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Kenneth Sutton, and her loving husband of 53 years John Smith.

Wilma is survived by her children Johnny Smith of Wichita, KS, Ronnie Smith (Pam) of Joplin, MO, sister Sharon Rodney of Stella, MO, 5 grandchildren (Carson, Chris, Heather, Jenny, Rachel) and multiple great grandchildren.

Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2024 at Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. No formal visitation will be held. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
