Jerry Robbins

Jerry Lee Robbins was born on July 23, 1944, in Goodman, McDonald County, Missouri, one of eight children to the late Neal Benjamin and Eula Faye (Whitman) Robbins. He entered into rest on February 26, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 79. 

As a young child, Jerry and his family worked as fruit harvesters in California. The family returned to Southwest Missouri in the late 1950’s and operated a logging business. 








In the early 1960’s, Jerry worked for Neosho Nurseries as a landscaper and supervisor. He then began working for MO Dot Road district and helped to construct the bridge north of Granby over Shoal Creek. In 1970, he purchased a Freightliner cab truck and worked as an independent transporter. He began working as a mechanic for the Granby Telephone Company in 1982 and worked with the Stouffer family until his retirement in 1993. He built and restored several classic cars for Jon Stouffer. 

He and his wife, owned and operated the South Elwood Flea Market for many years and enjoyed going to flea markets, auctions, yard sales. He was always helping others and was known as ‘Jerry of all trades’ for his ability to fix anything. He loved his family and was known to his grandchildren as Papa, Pepaw, and Papa Tractor and he enjoyed spending time with his friends. He was of the Baptist faith. 

On July 17, 1963, in Granby, Missouri, Jerry and Frankie Ann Newton were united in marriage, and Frankie preceded him in death on December 4, 2019. 








 Jerry and Frankie had four daughters, Jada Scheppert, who preceded him in death in 2019, Neidra Depuy and Alexander of Springfield, Missouri, Cara Lasswell of Neosho, Missouri and Carman Jamison and Mike of Granby, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brittni, Shelbey, Erin and Mitchell; two great grandchildren, Sutton and Sylias; two brothers, Carol and Sandy Robbins, Max and Violet Robbins of California and Jerry had one son, Trevor Robbins and Madison of Joplin, their son Knox as well as Trevor’s other son Weston, 

In addition to his wife, Frankie, his daughter, Jada, his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Pearl, Faye, Floyd, Leonard and Curtis.
