(From Parker Mortuary)Ruthanne Alexander, 69, of Joplin, Missouri, was born January 31, 1955 in Aurora, Illinois to Williams S. Alexander and Ethel (Bledsoe) Alexander. She passed from this life on Monday, February 26, 2024 in Joplin, Mo.
Ruthanne was raised in Anderson Mo and graduated from McDonald County High School in 1973. She went on to attend Crowder College in Neosho, Mo and earned a bachelors degree in education from Missouri Southern State College in Joplin. Ruthanne spent most of her working life as an educator in the Noel and Neosho school systems. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho.
She is survived by her sisters, Marowan Varndell of Joplin, Betsy Pettit and husband Gene of Neosho, Roberta Colyer and husband Gregg of Joplin and Elizabeth “Joy” Schwartz and husband Gerald of Owasso, Ok.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Alexander and Ethel Alexander Winters and sisters Lois Evelyn Vasquez, Mary Nell Sieben and Margaret Jean Krebs.
Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Graveside service will be Friday, March 1st at 10:00 a.m. at Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri with Pastor Mike Leake officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
