Katherine Rector

Katherine Geraldine Rector departed this life on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield Missouri at the age of 97 years old. She passed peacefully with family at her side.

She was born December 3, 1926 in South Greenfield, Missouri to James Shirley Harris and Jessie Ellen (Ford) Harris. She was united in marriage to Roy W. Rector on August 10, 1946.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Jessie Harris; her husband, Roy W. Rector; a sister, Emma Hall; and brothers, Dave Harris, John Harris and LeRoy Harris.








She is survived by three children, Michael Rector (Diane) of Kirkwood Missouri, Stephen Rector (Susan) of Cherry Hills Village, Colorado and Debi Shouse (Linley) of Greenfield Missouri; and a sister, Sue Hoskins, Olathe Kansas.

She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Traci Branner (Scott) of Memphis, Tennessee, Megan Rector (Vickie Fields) of Denver, Colorado, Michael Rector (Libby) of Castle Rock, Colorado, Jacquelyn Rector (Lance Avila) of Quincy, Massachusetts, Christopher Rector of St Peters, Missouri, Kathryn Rebecca Rector (Cori Barnett Mintzer) of Boston, Massachusetts, Caitlin Shouse (Amanda) of Springfield, Missouri, Whitney Shouse of Springfield, Missouri, and Gayle Hoogstraet (Greg) of Springfield, Missouri.

She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Katherine spent many years of her adult life in Lebanon Missouri as a co-owner of Lebanon Greenhouse and Floral Company until she moved to the Greenfield Missouri area.







Katherine was focused on her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family and she will be greatly missed by all!

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
