(From Clark Funeral Home)Melvin "Buddy" McNeely, 80, of Stark City, Missouri, passed away on August 20, 2023, at his home. He was born on June 13, 1943, in Granby, Missouri, to William and Mary (Morrison) McNeely.
Bud graduated from Granby High School in 1961, and he married his loving wife, Sarah Sue Gibbons. They shared 60 years of marriage, and Sarah survives him. Buddy dedicated much of his life to working, beginning with Shell Pipeline Wadkins Inspection and Foliz Inspection, before retiring from Schreiber Foods in Carthage, Missouri.
Buddy was known for his love of motorcycles and his time spent helping his grandsons, Hayden, Waylon, and Jaylon, whether working on Danny’s racecar or lending a helping hand with projects. His legacy of hard work, devotion, and family love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In addition to his wife Sarah, Buddy is survived by his daughters, Kimmie Carman of Neosho, Lecia (Dane) Cialini of Neosho, and Stephanie (Ken) Lynn of Stockton, Missouri. He is also survived by his siblings, Brownie McNeely of Granby, Dorotha McNeely of Joplin, Larry (Georgie) McNeely of Carthage, and Bill Crowe of Neosho. Buddy was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and a loving great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his siblings: Shirley Green of Springfield, Patsy Lutheran of Springfield, Medge Crowe of Neosho, Bill McNeely of Granby, and Gilbert McNeely of Joplin, as well as his brothers-in-law Ken Green and George Lutheran of Springfield.
Buddy was laid to rest at Newtonia IOOF Cemetery in Newtonia, Missouri.
