Don Gibson

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our father, Donald Gibson. He passed at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, OK on February 8, 2025. On this earth for 87 years, he began his life in Turkey, Texas on June 3,1937.

A disabled veteran, he served in the Army from Jan 1, 1955, to Dec 31, 1958, and was stationed in Germany for the better part of his four-year service.

Donald Gibson and Barbara Moore were married on Jan. 9, 1960, and resided in Fresno, Ca until 1969 before making their home in Neosho, Missouri.







Don was a self-employed carpet layer contracting for the surrounding area. He also enjoyed crafting wooden wishing wells and road trips with Barbara delivering them to customers. He loved canoeing the rivers in Missouri and catching brown bass. He was an avid reader and Louis L'Amour was his favorite author.

Don moved to Bixby, OK after Barbara passed in 2005 to live with his son and daughter- in-law, Randall and Sandra, on their ten-acre farm. While there, he enjoyed spending his days outdoors helping to grow heirloom tomatoes and other garden vegetables. He also loved going to the farmers markets and interacting with customers and vendors. During these years and into his twilight years he became an intricate part of their lives. He was known for his work ethic, generosity and passion for the love of his life Barbara.

He is survived by his two sons, Jeff Tomasetti and Randall Gibson and wife Sandra. He is also survived by five grandsons: Dustin Hansen, Shaun Hansen, Zachariah Tomasetti, Logan Tomasetti, Kyle Tomasetti and one granddaughter, Amanda Gibson and his 11great grandchildren.







He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, his son Donald Bradley Gibson, his parents Henry Benjamin Gibson and Helen Louzell. He is also preceded in death by all 14 siblings.

His ashes will rest beside his wife at Gibson Cemetery in Neosho, Mo,
