Jerrie Stone

(From Clark Funeral Home)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerrie Stone, age 76, who departed this life on February 10, 2025, at Oak Pointe Assisted Living in Neosho, Missouri.

Born on October 11, 1948, in Columbus, Kansas, Jerrie was the beloved son of the late Jack and Nadine (Sullivan) Stone, and he distinguished himself through a life marked by dedication and love for his family and community.

Jerrie graduated from high school in Columbus, Kansas in 1966 and later earned a master’s degree in industrial technology. He dedicated his professional life to the utility industry, serving as a Transformer Shop Foreman for Empire District, where he was known for his leadership and strong work ethic. That strong work ethic was matched only by his passion for farming and cattle, activities that brought him immense joy and fulfillment. In addition to his devotion to his work and the land, he was an avid reader where he spent hours in the pages of a good book.

Jerrie is survived by his devoted wife, Cathy Stone, as well as his cherished children, Jacque (Kris) Wilson and Brett (Livia) Stone. He was a loving grandfather to Kaleb and Kody Wilson, who were his pride and joy. Jerrie also leaves behind his dear sister, Shirley Messer, and sister-in-law, Dixie Stone, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will all remember him fondly.

Jerrie had a profound love for his family, and his happiest moments were spent in the company of his grandchildren. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the memories he created.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House in Joplin, located at 3402 S Jackson, Joplin, MO 64804, to support families in need during difficult times.

Jerrie will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents Jerrie was preceded in death by two brothers Johnnie and Jackie Stone, and one sister Sherry Lou Stone.
