Marcella Sharp

Marcella "Granny" Henle Sharp, 80, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025 at NHC HealthCare with family by her side. Born on June 7, 1944, in Missouri, she lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family and community.

Marcella was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her daughters Pearl Gillespie and Sara Johnson; her grandchildren Robert Newman (Amber), Travis Nivens, Shawn Gillespie, Kayla Gillespie, James Woods, Mike Woods (Codi), Danny Johnson (Sydney), David Heath, Veronica Garcia (Selso), Tasha Sharp, Savanna Sharp, Amanda Knapp Sharp, Brittany Nesbitt (Derrick), Dean Sharp, Joey Martinez (Samantha), Latisha Fulford (Dustin), and Trevor Browning (Halle), Vivian Hare (Josh). Her legacy also includes numerous great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.






 

She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Dora Henle; her husband Roy; her siblings Sylvia Burris (Albert), Betty Jones, Elmo Henle, and David Henle; her children David Sharp, Timmy Sharp, and Janie Sharp Browning; Sons in law Gary Gillespie and Ken Johnson; as well as many cherished friends and family members who went before her.

Known affectionately as "Granny," Marcella found her greatest happiness in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was often filled with the aroma of baked goods lovingly prepared for those she held dear. She had a radiant smile that could light up any room and a heart full of love for all who knew her.

A devoted member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church in Rocky Comfort, Missouri, Marcella’s faith was central to her life. She found strength and purpose in her relationship with Jesus and cherished the fellowship of her church community. Her passion for worship and service left an indelible mark on those around her.






 

Marcella's life will be celebrated through several services. A visitation will be held on February 6, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ozark Funeral Homes located at 100 Spring Street in Anderson, Missouri. A graveside service will take place on February 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Union Cemetery at 13504 E RT 76 in Longview, Missouri. Following the graveside service, a Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church at 20630 State Hwy. 76 in Rocky Comfort.

Marcella "Granny" Sharp leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
