(From Stumpff Funeral Home)Gerald (Jerry) Galan Peterson, 91 of Galena, MO left his earthly home September 11, 2025. He was born to Charles Alvin and Verla Faye (Jones) Peterson April 24, 1934.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Donald Peterson and Delmar Peterson, and sisters; Shirley Weis, Bernadine Herron and Sharon Burgess.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 65 years, Imogene (Russell) Peterson. They married on April 10, 1960. Three sons, Philip (Janet) Peterson, Carl Junction, MO, Nathan (Ginna) Peterson, Claremore, OK and Timothy (Michaela) Peterson, Joplin, MO and four daughters, Debra (David) Dixon, Belton, MO, Rebecca Peterson, Aurora, MO, Rachel Hill, Galena, MO, and Sarah (Danny) Obert, Lockwood, MO. He is also survived by granddaughter Joy (Hunter) Eddings whom he considered another daughter, 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In 1980 he graduated from Ozark Bible College with a BSL. He was involved in new church work in Marceline, MO and Orangeburg SC as well as worked as a youth minister in Escondido, CA. He was a Christian Church minister and held ministries in San Antonio, TX, Panama City, FL, Live Oak FL, Valdosta GA, Dearfield, MO and Hepler, KS.
He was a Korean Navy Veteran and his hobbies were homing pigeons, camping, spending time with family and carpentry.

Private graveside services and burial will be at the Veterans Cemetery Evans Rd, Springfield, MO on Monday September 15, 2025. A celebration of life will follow at New Testament Christian Church, Reads Spring, MO at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Kimberling City, MO.
